“I started attending the Boys & Girls Club at the age of 12, and later, as an adult, was employed there for 16 years. This is where I developed my love for children. The support of Mr. Hood and his staff helped me to build life lasting relationships and pushed me into greatness.

Dr. Takymmea Clayton

Dr. Takymmea Clayton is the leader of our HEAL group at our main campus. The HEAL group targets social and emotional development within adolescents by increasing their emotional awareness and teaching them healthy ways to express their emotions. They tackle everything from identifying depressive symptoms and processing trauma, to building self-esteem and developing healthy coping mechanisms. The HEAL group is open to all middle and high school members at our main Boys and Girls Club campus.

“At the club, I learned the importance of family, service and leadership, which has been the foundation of my career. Without the club, I would not be where I am today.  We are all given two things each day.. a CHANCE  and a CHOICE.  Don't be afraid to take chances and make good choices.” –Amanda Shadwick

Cierra J. Ball-Williams

"The Boys & Girls Club has always been considered my home away from home. It has helped me to grow in so many areas in life. While working at the Club, I was inspired to become an educator. I absolutely love working with the kids here and being a part of their story.
