OUR VISION

Our vision is to provide members a world-class experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who walks through our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.  We are dedicated to ensuring that our community’s disadvantaged children have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.

A POSITIVE PLACE FOR KIDS

Headquartered in the West End neighborhood of Meridian, BGC of East Mississippi offers after-school and summer programs at four units in the City of Meridian, Lauderdale County—West End Unit
(45th Avenue), Velma Young Unit (Velma Young Center), Northeast Unit (Northeast Elementary School)  and our newest site, Southeast Unit (Southeast Middle School). The hours are from 2:30 pm - 7:00pm.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club in Kosciusko Ms is under the umbrella of the Boys & Girls Clubs of East Mississippi.  We are currently accepting applications for all children.

GREAT REASON TO CONTRIBUTE

image89

There is no other organization outside of the school district that provides the breadth and depth of programming offered by the Boys & Girls Clubs on a daily basis or has the same amount of regular contact with our community’s youth and their parents.

The Club is open a minimum of 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, for the after-school program. During the months of June and July, we are open a minimum of 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday. In addition to the regular hours listed above, the staff and volunteers serve as coaches at night and on weekends for our sporting leagues.
